Another ';where to stay?'; question

Hi all,

I%26#39;m planning a trip to Maui next spring (June) but I am much more familiar with Kauai than Maui. We%26#39;ll be traveling with our Brother and Sister in law and their small son (2) and our kids, 6 and 4. We%26#39;ll probably rent a house through VRBO for part of the time, and also go to a nice resort hotel with kid facilities (pool with slide maybe?) In Kauai we enjoy the North Shore more, and would like that vibe if possible. We%26#39;re interested in snorkeling and going to the beach. Any advice?

Thanks!

Another ';where to stay?'; question

We often travel with another family and have stayed at the Wailea Beach Villas. It is the best of both worlds as you are staying in a large condo and you are directly on Wailea Beach. The snorkeling is very good on Wailea Beach and there is a beach path to access other beaches with great snorkeling. We have stayed in a 3 bedroom unit with 3 bathrooms in the penthouse. It is wonderful for the kids to have their own bathroom. The rates are high on the WBV website, but many owners have their condos listed on VRBO and I have found that rates are much lower through VRBO. Also, try to look for owners that offer guest access to the Grand Wailea. The Grand Wailea is next door to the Beach Villas and if you have guest access your family can use all the pools at the GW so there is no need to switch accomodations while on Maui.
