I will be staying at the Royal Hawaiian this coming June. I am looking for advice on the best ice cream shop in Waikiki. I would prefer something within walking distance of the hotel. Of course, it can be more than 2-3 blocks away, because I think I will need to walk the calories off after I eat there.

Ice Cream in Waikiki
Two of our favourties are the Haagen-Dazs Ice-Cream shop at the bottom of the Pacific Beach Hotel on Kalakaua Ave. It has yummy sundae%26#39;s !!! Our other fave is Hula Pie at Dukes Canoe Club !!!!
There are a couple of Baskin Robbins shops around. One on Kalakaua Ave near the International Market Place, the other was in the Royal Hawaiian Shopping Centre (but it was closed on our last visit in August for the RHSC renovations).

i second cold stone, its something special i only do on vacation cause wow the calories...but totally worth it..ivnever been to the one in hawaii so i dont know how close it is, but i know cold stone is the best ice cream iv ever had..
have fun
Coldstone gets the thumbs up from me. I always visit it on my trips to Oahu.
The icecream is out of this world.
Enjoy.
John.
Cold Stone isn%26#39;t bad, but kind of expensive.
I was hoping for something more Hawaiian. I can go to Marble Slab, Cold Stone, Ben %26amp; Jerry%26#39;s or Baskin Robbins in Texas. I found an ad for Dave%26#39;s Hawaiian Ice Cream parlor but it is not in Waikiki. Maybe I will just have to rent a car an drive there. That make for an expensive ice cream cone.
Having said that, mahalo for your input. It is appreciated.
Hi - Are there any Lappert%26#39;s locations nearby?
Best wishes,
Michelle
If you want something more Hawaiian, then get shaved ice. The classic spot is North Shore at a place called Matsumoto%26#39;s. Take a drive out of Waikiki up there and you%26#39;ll feel like you%26#39;ve gone to another world.
The funny thing about Lappert%26#39;s is it%26#39;s supposed to be ';Hawaiian type'; ice cream, but there aren%26#39;t any locations in Hawaii! Tropical Dreams is another good one, but they%26#39;re not on Oahu.
I vote for Cold Stone. Even though we have them here in Georgia, it%26#39;s not the same as eating it in Waikiki while people watching.
