I have been reading recently about the dry weather conditions on Kauai. How long has it been since there has been a really good rain. It sounds like this is effecting the entire island, not just the normally dryer south. Is that true?
I guess you just never know with the weather. After the terrible floods of last year to have what sounds like almost draught conditions now...
dry weather conditions
We had a very dry winter. My yard is frying, irrigation system is on a couple of months early.
Lately there have been a few trade showers passing through but no serious soaking rain for quite some time. A day or 2 of good rain would go a long way towards knocking down the dust problems in Koloa/Poipu

Aloha from Kaua%26#39;i!
I truthfully can%26#39;t remember the last time we had a ';really good rain'; meaning full on rainshowers that lasted for at least a day -- it had to have been sometime last fall maybe?
We are in drought conditions just now -- I was in Hanalei today and even green Hanalei is starting to look a little less green -- my friend who lives up there says they hardly are getting any rain at all.
Here on the south shore it is dry, dry -- once in awhile I%26#39;ll hear a shower passing through at night --very briefly -- or the same in the morning. But nothing to give us what we need -- RAIN!
There was an article in our paper addressing the dust situation here on the South Shore (with all the construction) -- they said there are never-before-seen conditions -- drought combined with all the dust from 11 separate construction projects -- boy, do we need rain!!
Malama Pono,
Janet
I saw that article. It really does sound bad. Florida and Georgia finally got some rain; maybe Kauai will be next. Here in Texas, we seem to be getting everyone else%26#39;s rain.
