Where would you say are the top 5 places to eat in Waikiki? There%26#39;s so many to choose from and it%26#39;ll be our first time there that it%26#39;ll help us narrow things down. We%26#39;re not looking for fine dining but something resonably affordable say 8 to 15 dollars per person...we would love to try some Hawaiin cuisine but am not particularily picky...just wanted a place that offers great food. ANy suggestions would be helpful. Thanks.

$8 to $15 per person does not go a long way towards meeting the cost of the top places in Waikiki to eat. The top of the line joints will cost upwards of at least $25 per person for a basic meal (more with appetizers, wine, drinks or dessert). $35 to $50+ per person is more the typical range for the nicer places.
Your best bet for an inexpensive, enjoyable and choice-filled dining experience is the Makai Market Food Court at Ala Moana Center, just outside of Waikiki towards town. The world%26#39;s best food court with dozens of choices of international foods, specialty joints, local style and standard fast food providers.
The cost can run from about $5 to $12 per person. Clean, lively, plenty of places to sit. Eat there once and you are guaranteed to go back again.
See the list of restaurants in the food court, and throughout the Center at: http://www.alamoanacenter.com/diningdirec.htm
In Waikiki, your best bet for inexpensive food is along Kuhio Avenue, where there are numerous ethnic, mainland, local style and standard restaurants.
One way a lot of folks get past the high cost of dinner at some of the more popular places is to go for lunch, which is always less expensive.

Do a search on here. There was a recent post about cheap eats on Oahu that had some great suggestions!
Umaga...
Unfortunately some of the past posts, particularly the infamous ';Waikiki Cheap Eats';, with a few hundred great suggestions, has apparently been lost in the TA reshuffling of the Waikiki and Honolulu forums.
for $15, the best place for us is the beach bar at the Moana under the banyan tree or the mai tai bar at the Royal Hawaiian, and order something like a burger or salad. The location can not be beat.
As Amberloo suggesed, the Ala Moana Mall is a great place to eat!! There are tons of good places there, both cheap and expensive. One of our favorite places there is the Pineapple Room inside the Macy%26#39;s. VERY good and reasonable too.
For something cheaper, there%26#39;s also L %26amp; L BBQ and Yummy Korean BBQ. They also have locations throughout the island.
Of course, if you%26#39;re in Waikiki, you also have to go to Duke%26#39;s.
Dukes have a $12.95 all u can eat Salad bar. Very good.
I don%26#39;t think u will find many places that cheap but the starters are big meals over there so I know we shared a started or even an entree between 2 most of the time.
Ala Moana is good, there is also a Bubba Gumps here, great meals for around $20 but very big meals.
Good suggestions by everybody! Most tourists like going to Duke%26#39;s. I don%26#39;t know if you guys have Cheesecake Factory back home, but it%26#39;s right in Waikiki and is pretty popular as well. They have a huge menu and everything is around the $10 range. Another popular choice in that price range is Sam Choy%26#39;s (on Nimitz Hwy). Some more casual places are Zippy%26#39;s, Wailana Coffee House and the great ones mentioned by Umaga.
