Warren and Annabelle's Show or Drums of Paradise Luau?

We will be going to Maui in October for the first time. I was going to book a show for our first night. Which show/luau (Warren and Annabelle%26#39;s or Drums of Paradise luau) do you like best. I have read good things about both. If you think Warren and Annabelle%26#39;s is the choice - would you just purchase tickets for the show or show, pupus and drinks (is it worth the extra money?). Thanks for any input.

If you are only boing to do one special ';thing';, I recommend the Feast at Lele instead. It is very upscale, with your own reserved table and table service. Very romantic!

Warren %26amp; annabelle%26#39;s is a very good show and we enjoyed it also, but it was not something we would have given up the Feast at Lele for even though we enjoyed it to. Drums of the Pacific is a decent luau, but you are more packed together and thrown in with strangers and line up for food. They do not have a view of the water either like the Feast at Lele. It is a god choice for families with younger children. Lele is more adult.

FWIW, my husband and I went to W%26amp;A%26#39;s on our first trip to Maui last October, and while the show wasn%26#39;t bad, we both felt it was the one thing we did that we were disappointed with. I realize that%26#39;s a minority opinion around here, but that%26#39;s how we felt. After all the ';must see'; comments we%26#39;d heard, it was a big let-down for us.

Enjoy a luau--at least you%26#39;ll be outside and won%26#39;t miss a sunset.

Thanks all for your responses.

If your first island stop from Michigan is Maui you will not be able to stay awake for the show or a luau if you attend on your first night.

It will take a little time to get on ';island time';.

5mimi - You are right about that - I was planning on doing this on my second night which is what I consider the first night t do anything except go to bed. I would never plan anything for our first night.

Have you been to either of these shows?

If this is your first time in the islands or if you%26#39;ve never been to a luau, I%26#39;d do the luau. I%26#39;ve been to Old Lahaina -- enjoyed it. Feast at Lele is supposed to be great (same company as Old Lahaina, I think) and since you do get your own table and the meal is served, I%26#39;d consider this for sure.

After many times on Maui, I went to Warren and Annabelle%26#39;s for the first time this year and LOVED it! Warren is great -- so funny and the magic is amazing. We just ordered drinks and dessert a-la-carte, as we thought the price for the pupus was a bit much ... but they looked good.

Warren and Annabelle%26#39;s doesn%26#39;t really have an ';island feel'; to it, though ... that%26#39;s why I%26#39;d pick the luau if it%26#39;s your first time.

Have fun!

I agree with konagirl. I would pick the most hawaiian one and so do the luau. I have read great reviews of W%26amp;A but if you haven%26#39;t done Maui before you should definitely do a luau first!

we just did both Warren and Annabelle%26#39;s and Drums of the pacific a few weeks ago. Warren was terrific, but we didn%26#39;t care for the Annabelle part. If you go, go a bit later than the check in time and miss some of this warm up act. I%26#39;d see Warren again- he%26#39;s really entertaining.

The luau was nice- food was pretty good, but I wasn%26#39;t that impressed with the dancers. It%26#39;s a bit to cheesy, but not bad for a luau.

Since you are in Hawaii a luau is more island oriented, but I enjoyed Warren more.
