Hi -
Is there a beach bar at the Marriott, or someplace near the beach to get drinks/snacks?
What are the rules about drinking on the beach (discreetly drinking, I should say).
Thanks!
Beach Bar @ Marriott Waikoloa
The Marriott used to have a Palapa bar near the pool and beach but it was taken down during construction. They do have a restaurant that is close though. You can drink on any beach, just not alcohol! I see many people with plastic cups or coolers on A-Bay, especially at sunset. I have never seen anyone get into trouble and there is not security roaming around. You shouldn%26#39;t have a problem.

For the record, Hawaii State law prohibits the consumption of alcohol on all beaches in Hawaii.
Good luck and happy travels!
KoleaJim, you mean Nalu%26#39;s is gone for good?
%26lt;sniff%26gt; I loved Nalu%26#39;s, especially for sunset.
The Hawai%26#39;i Calls restaurant is set too far back to have that ';near the beach'; feeling. %26lt;sniff%26gt;
My favorite has been the Ocean Bar at the Orchid. The turtles are nesting a few feet away. Try the Caesar pizza.
The ultimate feet-in-the-sand beach bar is the one at the Beach Tree at the Four Seasons...right on the sand. Princes are at 4S levels but the ambiance...priceless! :-)

Nalu%26#39;s no more, for good. I just talked to the restaurant manager today and it is not coming back. They are putting in a Longie%26#39;s where the Luau is held currently. Should be in sometime next year.
