I%26#39;ve asked a few of these questions over the last few days but I%26#39;m blown away by choice.
We are looking for a family vacation this summer. 2 adults, 12yo and 8yo. We%26#39;re looking for a beach and nice pool, and a few choices to eat, not really in need of a lot of activities.
We%26#39;d like to stay in a condo style place, high rise is fine, directly on or with a couple of hundred yds of a beach that%26#39;s good for swimming and beach fun. Having other families around would be great.
So which resorts, locations, islands would you recommend. I did not really like Waikiki - just too touristy. I loved staying at Kahana Sunset in Maui but it%26#39;s booked up.
Thanks so much for any help you can offer.
Which island / location
Hi we stayed at the Mahana in Maui which we loved, but didn%26#39;t really have a good swimming beach. Hopefully this will bump you up so someone can help you will something that suits you better. Good luck.

In South Maui there are many choices on or across the street from great swimming/snorkeling beaches. Look at:
S. Kihei: Hale Pau Hana, Kihei Surfside, Mana Kai Maui (all oceanfront); Kamaole Sands, Hale Kamaole, Maui Kamaole, Maui Hill (across Kihei Road from beaches). There are less expensive condos ON beaches in N. Kihei and Maalea, but these beaches are mostly just for walking. Sugar Beach Club in N. Kihei might suit.
Wailea: Ekahi, Elua, Makena Surf, Polo Beach Club (oceanfront); Grand Champions, The Palms (above the beach).
