Hello,
I am planning a May 2008, 20th wedding anniversary trip to the Hawaiian Islands. We have never visited the islands before and I am becoming somehat stressed out with ';information overload'; on reviewing which seems likes 100%26#39;s of web sites on the Hawaiian Islands.
Does this itinerary sound too aggressive?
5 nights in Maui - Four Seasons
4 nights big island - Four Seasons
3 or 4 nights Waikiki - Halekulani
We may not make it back so I thought this may give a flavor of the different islands but it may be too aggressive of a schedule.
Also, any thoughts on the above mentioned resorts?
Has anyone had any experiences with taking an organized tour vs driving? For example - On Maui - Temptation Tours
Thanks for any light you can shed!
May 2008 20th Anniversary tripPlease stick to just two islands with only 12 nights. Any two should be fine. Personally, I would prefer Oahu and Maui or Kauai. Big Island is really big and it isn%26#39;t relaxing to drive for hours to get to its sights, interesting and beautiful though they are. You will very likely return and can spend more time there someday. Everybody returns to Hawaii! (Maybe not to the luxury of the Four Seasons, but they do return.)
You%26#39;ll be fine driving yourselves. No need for a tour. Look at a couple of the ';Revealed'; books for whichever islands you choose and plan your own ';tour';. May is a great time to visit.
