Just wondering if this park is mainly for kids or if it is worth going to as an adult? Thier websites wounds like a lot of fun as i%26#39;m a kid at heart but wouldn%26#39;t want to feel silly if it caters mainly to kids....thanks for any insights.
Hawaiin Water Adventure Park: for adults?
Sure! My wife and I went there on our recent visit and we didn%26#39;t feel out of place. Hey, maybe we *were* the oldest people there (we%26#39;re...umm...past 40), but it%26#39;s something I didn%26#39;t pay attention to. There are a few slides which are a blast. The wave pool there is awesome. We went there on a weekday and it wasn%26#39;t crowded at all compared to other waterparks we%26#39;ve been to. If you like tube and body slides, you%26#39;ll like this park!

Hawaiin Water Adventure Park: for adults?
Its definitely not just for kids. My hubby and I were there with our 5 kids but we had lots of fun too :)
There are some childrens areas but there are many slides for adults and I saw people of ALL ages....even grandparents so you would not feel out of place.
We had a wonderful time there and so did the kids :)
Just reading your post makes me want to be back there.
Have fun!
Thanks for both of your inputs as i%26#39;m glad ot hear that....=)
What is the wave pool? is that where you get to ';surf'; as i have always wanted to try surfing but too scared in the ocean? And would you be able to elaborate more on the tube part? Does that go fast? And with the body slides, is that just the regular slides like at all water parks? So would you say going on a Saturday would be more crowded than a weekday? Sorry for so many questions....thanks for your help.
I can help with a couple of the questions :)
The Wave pool is a big pool that is flat and calm and then every 15 minutes (I think?) they make it into a wave pool and you can either be on a bodyboard or one of those inner tubes. I think that changes every half hour. So for example, at 11am it might be inner tubes and then that finishes, and the pool is calm for 15 minutes and then it will be the bodyboards and I think the waves are a bit rougher?
I didnt go in the wave pool this time around but I did a few years ago and its fun.
There is actually a seperate learn to Surf pool which is actually rather new but you have to pay seperately for that. Its not included in the entry price. Sorry but I cant recall the price. It might be on the website though?
Its a fun day out and there are slides to suit all ages and thrill seekers. I didnt go near some of the scary ones. I mostly liked the Intermediate ones. The Flying Hawaiian is fun and I think the Big Kahuna was another fave.
There are sun lounges all over the park too so you can relax in between the slides and there is also an adults area where they sell liqour but we didnt go in there because we had the kids with them but I hear its good.
Hope that helps a little :)
Oh and yes I hear weekends are more busy because you get the locals and their families. Both times we went on a weekday and we didnt wait more than a couple of minutes for any ride. The longest line we saw was for lunch!
I still think it would be ok to go on a Saturday though. We got there at opening time which was 10.30 (but check the website cos this changes all the time) and we stayed till they closed the rides at 3.30pm. Seeing as though we had 5 kids, obviously that took alot of our time up but we absolutely loved it. The kids are still talking about it and we have been home over a month.
The Shaka is fun. Two people in an inner tube on a big wet half pipe. I%26#39;ve seen one person touch the opposite lip.
Thanks Carla for the posts...it sounds like a lot of fun...hope this doesn%26#39;t sound like silly question as some people might be questioning why you would go and pay for a water adventure park when there are beautiful waters all around to explore in....for me, i am not the greatest swimmer so it would be perfect for me to have fun in a safe environment....am i right?
