Aloha from Kaua%26#39;i!
Forgive me for posting this and being so excited -- but I was just so stoked!!!
My husband ran the Ha%26#39;ena to Hanalei 8 mile race today and won!
Which I thought was fantastic and we were happy about that, figuring that he%26#39;d get a bowl or a plaque (a kamani bowl actually!) -- but what was even more exciting -- we received a
2 night stay at Princeville Hotel oceanfront accomodations!
I used to stay there when I worked at the Sheraton (sister properties so we could stay free at each) -- but it has been like 4 years since I actually stayed there! Luxury awaits!!
So now I%26#39;m going to be a visitor and ask -- what is everyone%26#39;s favorite room area at the Princeville (ocean of course!) -- I like staying down by the ';infinity'; swimming pool!
Squee! Now that is a prize worth winning! And to think I was grumbling about getting up this morning at 4am to make it up to Hanalei in time for the race!
It%26#39;s good being married to a crazy runner sometimes!!
Malama Pono,
Janet
Hooray, I'm staying at Princeville Hotel for 2 nights -free!
Your husband must be very fleet of foot. Guess you should keep him. LOL. What a great prize. Everyone deserves something special sometimes. When are you going to go?
Hooray, I'm staying at Princeville Hotel for 2 nights -free!
koloagirl...Wowie! Feed him right and make it an annual thing!
Janet,
A well deserved get-away on the north shore, for you and the '; man';! And hard earned, I might add. Takes perseverace and dedication to train, and be healthy and athletic.
We have been thinking about doing the same, but in less expensive digs. ( renting for dollars, not running and wining ).
A hearty '; congrats to your hubby ';, on his victory. Do you get out an run with him at home in Koloa ? Hey, if you all would like to join us for some fun and enjoyable hiking on this magical island, we would love that, and then stop for a nice lunch afterward.
Oh, incidentally, we visited ';jebetts'; a couple of weeks ago for a nice , easy and fun cocktail get to gether, and must say that Joan%26#39;s place is fantastic there at the Hanalei Bay Resort. I mean numero uno, da-kine, mas muy bueno bitchen-bitchen, fantastic and fabulous !!!!!!.
Wonderful decorations and ambiance, with a warm cordial fuzzy good feeling, just walking into the condo. Luxury furnishings, and I dont know how it could be improved...perfect.
Then , when touring on our own, the view from the bedroom and living room and the large lanai that is accessable to both, allows a fabulous view of hanalei bay and the mountains.......I mean breathtaking. My first impression, was how wonderful it would be to wake up in the morning, and witness that marvelous scene. Truely a majestic creation by the wonders of mother nature. Whew !!!
There were quite a few people there, and even then , it did not seem crowded. And what a friendly crowd...honestly, we just walked in the door, and people were greeting us and introducing themselves. A grand and interesting gathering of easy to talk to good folks.
Joan, was a supeb host, and we sat and visited for a while, and truely hope to see her and her family again, soon.
So, a toast to you both, and to you all enjoying our Tahiti of Hawaii, the North Shore of the Garden Island.
Okole maluna
Me ke aloha pumehana
Denny and Erica
Thanks Denny for the kind words about my island home. I can%26#39;t wait to get back over there in a few weeks with the kiddos. Of course the offer I made to Janet goes to you and Erica as well. Just give me a holler anytime you think Bali Hai is calling!
Joan
