We are on the Pride of America at the end of July . Any thoughts on this ship? Also I am playing golf on Maui at Kahili Golf Club and playing again on KauaI at Paukea Golf Course. Has anyone played these. We also booked a Luau called Pale Lai Luau. It is located in Kahului within walking distance from the ship at the Maui Beach hotel. Any thoughts. Thanks Donald

Kahili is in Waikapu on the slopes of the West Maui Mountains right along one of the more windy parts of the island. Could be pretty frustrating up there on the wrong day, particularly in the afternoon. Try to hit it first thing in A.M., if your schedule allows.
Didn%26#39;t know that they did a Luau at the Maui Beach Hotel. Must be something geared towards cruisers as nobody actually staying on the island would likely bother doing a luau in central Maui. The Maui Beach gets mixed reviews on it%26#39;s buffets. Do a bit of digging here in TA for more info. Use the search string ';Maui Buffet'; ...
Here%26#39;s one that caught my eye:

Generally speaking, if your schedule allows, you are much better off heading of to either South Maui or West Maui for your excursions. South Maui will be quicker to get in and out of. Yes, central Maui is where the port is and things there are much more convenient. Unfortunately, remaining near the Kahului harbor will not likely leave you with a terribly favorable impression of Maui :(
Aloha :)
