Does anyone have any suggestion re: great spas in waikiki? We%26#39;re staying @ the Hyatt, so if anyone has been to the spa in the hotel; your post would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

';Does anyone have any suggestion re: great spas in waikiki? %26#39;
if you dont Have To Be in Waikiki Proper,
I would suggest PAUL BROWN SPA
just down past the Ala Moana Centre on Ala Moana Blvd
at the Ward Center.
Ward Center Salon %26amp; Spa
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
1200 Ala Moana Blvd.
Honolulu, Hawaii 96814
Tel: 808.591.1881
Fax: 808.596.0755

I like it
also there is a spa at the
Outrigger REEF on the beach .
DONT confuse it with the hotel called the Outrigger Waikiki Beach
because they are separate and far away from each other
spa daySorry to hijack this post but Touris#rapd do you have a rough idea of the costs for this spa. I%26#39;m especially interested in hair / makeup but might have my arm twisted (!!!!) to try other treatments as well.
no worries-- glad to help there
nervymare
hair and blow dry $40.50
Make-up application is $52.oo and up to $90.00 for lessons
eye lash tint is $25.00
One thing the spa is keen on is Kukui Nut Oil
which is no ka oi (the best) for dry skin as far as I am concerned.
Scientific name: Aleurites moluccana
English Name : Candlenut oil
This may or may not influence a decision but at the same place where
Paul Brown is located the Ward Center there are good places to EAT and a Borders Book Store.
Thanks touris%26#39;rapd. I had the Ward centre on my list to go to for trying
Kaka%26#39;ako Kitchen so now I can combine two activities ! :0)
Thanks for the info. Do you know how far this spa is from the Hyatt?
Hi Spa Mama

The way to Ward Center
wardcenters.com/Maps/鈥C_OverviewMap.pdf
where It Sits. 鈥?which is at Kamakee %26amp; and Auahi and Ala Moana Blvd .
Auahi kinda curves around and meets up to Ala Moana Blvd.
I still remember when that segment used to be called Queen Street as it went by the
side of Borders Books Store
http://www.wardcenters.com for general info including more
Eats ideas. and YES Kaka`ako Kitchen is great. o is Brew Moon.
Touris#rap%26#39;d, we just returned from Hawaii yesterday (sigh) and I just thought I would post to say thanks for the recommendation for Paul Brown%26#39;s. I went there for my wedding hair and makeup and was bowled over with the work they did. I had Nathan do my makeup and he really made a silk purse out of a sow%26#39;s ear !! I think he must have noticed how hyper emotional I was too as he kept cracking jokes and making me laugh the whole way through. Ines did my hair which was no mean feat as it hadn%26#39;t grown half as much as I had wanted it to by the time we reached Hawaii and was still full of layers. Bless her face when she saw what she had to deal with !!! LOL But she did an amazing job and it looked even better in person than I had imagined that it could. In fact they both did such good jobs that by the time they had finished they had both me and my chief bridesmaid in tears ! Are you are regular vistor there ? If so it would be great if you could say Hi to both of them and pass on much aloha from the crying ladies of the UK !! LOL Thanks again.
nervymare :-)
You are very welcome
I am deemed by the Locals and native Hawaii a Kama`aina.
Very acculturated in Hawai`i
So, I see you are from the UK which part or which county?
I was there some 15 years back and I Need to Go Back !!
and when I do try not to get lost. LOL
oh yea dont forget Hawaii%26#39;s best beauty ingredient
KUKUI NUT OIL candlenut oil.
A HUI HOU
You want to come back to the UK when you live in Hawaii ?! Are you mad ? LOL I think probably the nearest places to us that you would recognise are either Oxford or Stratford upon Avon. Out of the two if I were visiting I think I would prefer Stratford. Oxford is quite cultural but Stratford is prettier and more relaxed. Give me a shout if you are ever over this way amd fancy visiting either. A funny coicidence was when we met our wedding photographer she had just visited a city very near us called Milton Keynes the week before ! Small world eh ?!
