Where is the best island/town to go in Hawaii for those really interested in just relaxing without a lot of people.
Best quiet spot in Hawaii
You posted this on the Big Island forum. I think you wanted it in the Hawaii (the entire state) forum. The two islands of the major four which are generally the least touristy are the Big Island and Kauai, although there are places on both which are quite busy with lots of visitors. There are also very quiet places on the other islands. Read some trip reports for all the islands and it will become very clear which one meets your criteria.

My biased opinion is that Lana%26#39;i is the best place to go for relaxation. I just got back this month after 2 weeks there. Only 3000 people live there, there are only 300 total hotel rooms, and not a stop-light on the island. Check out some of the posts on the Lana%26#39;i forum for more info on the island, and you can check my insde page for things to do there.
I agree with drvalgemae, my first option would be the Manale Bay Resort on Lanai. (The Lodge is nice too but it%26#39;s colder up there at that elevation.) My second choice would be staying at the Kona Village Resort on the Big Island. Third choice would be Molokai.
I agree (have not been to Moloka%26#39;i though) ...
but when you say relaxation, what kind of setting do you want? Are you envisioning lying by the pool, on the beach, or a non-hotel rental looking out over the ocean or in the rain forest? Resort or retreat?
And how much do you care about the ';quiet'; part -- do kids playing and roosters crowing bother you?
