There will be 7 of us:
My parents (in their 50%26#39;s), my husband and myself along with my brothers and my brother%26#39;s girlfriend who are all in late 20%26#39;s. All the guys will want to golf several days and the girls will want good beach access/pool time. We would like to be close to restaurants or at least something so we could have a little bit of nightlife. We want to rent a home (see my last post), but not sure on what part of island to look first. Thanks in advance.
which part of island for us to stay?????
WB - Next time I%26#39;ll read both of your posts before I answer. As I said, the Anini area is VERY quiet. If you want night life, you have to either drive into Hanalei or Kapaa and frankly, there isn%26#39;t m;uch there.
Even though northshore is nicer in summer, sounds like you might prefer Poipu in the south. There are all kinds of house rentals there ranging from spartan to ultra-glamourous, with prices to match. Very few of them are actually on the beach, since much of the shoreline is rocky there, but there are great ocean views and the beaches are usually within walking distance.
There is an excellent golf course there - Poipu Bay and another one that is OK - Kiahuna. There are a lot of restaurants and shops and the only ';nightlife'; I can really think of is at the Hyatt -- they have jazz at the Stevenson Library. Kauai is just not a nightlife, destination.
Try Garden Island Rentals, Gratham Resorts, and Kauai Vacation Rentals for listings.
Good Luck!
which part of island for us to stay?????
north shore/east shores could work too. There%26#39;s a few spots for evening entertainment (Sushi blues, the new tapas place in Hanalei, Kukui%26#39;s at the Marriot, Tradewinds + a few others on a variable schedule)
Nightlife is thin all over on Kauai beyond restaurant dining with perhaps some live music in the background. If you are looking for lively bars with dancing etc ----%26gt; Maui or Oahu.
Princeville has 2 golf courses. The very difficult Prince +27 holes that are easier. There%26#39;s the municipal course in Wailua, 2 in Nawiliwili, Pua Kea in Lihue, then 3 down in Poipu (that I can think of). so golf is spread around all over. In summer, the north shore is nicer IMO.
Just skim through the VRBO or Kauai vacation rentals sites or call the latter re houses on the beach with a pool big enough for your group. I believe some of the homes along the rim by the Lihue marriot have resort privileges which would get you access to the pool. Could be wrong. Or look in one of the condo developments and get multiple rooms.
thanks i appreciate the info!
