So..more questions..where can we get the best rate for a car in Maui? Also, we kinda want a convertible, but it%26#39;s really expensive..is it worth it to have the whole time or maybe we should just have a regular car for most days and get a convertible for 1 or 2 days?

we always get a mid size or a 4 door compact. We did a convertable once on Oahu and it was kinda fun but spendy. Do you have a Costco card? You can check through them. I usually just go price Budget, National, Avis and Alamo and go with the cheapest they got.

We got our Mustang convertible through Priceline. We paid $32 a day. I waited until about 3 days before our trip to offer a price. We rented a compact on Oahu for $31/day (high season) through Hotwire, and when we arrived at the Hertz desk, upgraded to a convertible for an additional $10 per day.
It%26#39;s totally worth it if you%26#39;ll be driving around the island a lot.
