My husband and I are going to O%26#39;ahu for the first time in May for 6 nights. Need Help!!! We are staying at the Queen Kapiolani (we are on a budget and are never in the room anyway) hotel near Diamond Head and wanted to ask some opinions:
1. Rental car for all 6 days??
2. Must do%26#39;s
3. Good but not too expensive retaurants??
4. Best Luau%26#39;s??
5. Best nearby bars/clubs?
6. Best tours?
Thanks for any ideas!!

Rent a car the entire time.
By the time you pay for shuttles, cabs, buses %26amp; tours that you can do on your own, you won%26#39;t save any $$.
You can see Oahu much better with a car.
Lots to do on Oahu:

QK is a decent budget hotel. Kind of noisy in the area. Keep the windows shut %26amp; AC on. It will block much of the noise.
Tiki%26#39;s about 2 blocks from QK is a nice bar %26amp; grill. In Resortquest Waikiki Beach Hotel
Duke%26#39;s in Outrigger Waikiki is also a good restaurant/bar.

I second getting a car. Unless you plan on spending all day at the beach you will save $$.
Must do%26#39;s? Well depends on what you like to do really. Check out this site for many opinions and help. Personally if I was going to Oahu once in my life I would
1. Go to the Arizona memorial.
2. Go to see the Mighty Mo
3. Hike up Diamond Head
4. Visit Hanauma Bay
5. Drive the North Shore
6. Do a another Hike- Mariners ridge is easy to mod and great views!
Best Luau? Whats that? I suppose Germaines (?) is okay as I was dragged into it by a friend who visited. PCC was also oaky as I was dragged to that as well by my same alleged friend.
Bars- Sorry I don%26#39;t do bars
Tour%26#39;s - Research this site is the best. Especially if you%26#39;re trying to save $$ as all tours cost money that you could save with research and help from posters.
Have fun!
Thank you so much for your input- I am looking forward to this trip more than you know- any other tips would be greatly appreciated-
restaurants...up Kapahulu Ave. find Auntie Pastos, (Italian) and La Bamba (Mexican), Pyramids (middle eastern) on King St. go to Chiang Mais (Thai)
Must do%26#39;s ...hike Manoa Falls, sunset drink under the Banyan tree at the Moana Surfrider, drive around the island starting south on H1 which rounds makapu%26#39;u point and eventually ends up on the northshore. A day trip, and worth it.
