Excursions for a family of four in Hawaii

Hi

Does anyone have any excursion tips for a familly of four (2 adults, a 6yr and 9yr old)? it seems to be very expensive to book through the ship. (Pride of Hawaii). I am thinking of reserving a car on each port and going on our own, has anyone booked any excusrions on the pier? We will visit Kauai, Maui, Kona and Hilo on Big Island. Please give any advise.

I would definitely recommend the road to Hana (if you have time). The drive culminates in the ';seven sacred pools';. It%26#39;s a memory my family will always cherish.

I%26#39;ll be in Oahu this summer and plan on seeing the USS Arizona. I%26#39;ve also heard the Polynesian Cultural Center can be fun.

Carla .... as I mentioned to Northern on another post, hit Stacey at slion@expedia.com and she would answer all your questions and help you with your tours on the neighbor islands and save you money on your tours from the NCL ship.

My recommendation to you and you can ask Stacey, is that you rent a car on the islands that you will stay overnight. Because of the time limitation on the other islands, do island tours when you are sailing at night.
