I would like to rent a 2-person kayak to paddle out to Sunken Island off Kaneohe. I saw many kayak rental places in Kailua, but have not seen any in Kaneohe. Does anyone know if there are kayak rentals in Kaneohe, or what companies deliver to Kaneohe Bay?
Thank you.
Kayak rentals in Kaneohe?
There%26#39;s a public launch off the Kam highway in Kaneohe and a yacht club going towards Kailua, but I%26#39;ve never seen a kayak rental spot. Kaneohe Bay isn%26#39;t really the type of place that folks think about when they%26#39;re planning their vacation. I%26#39;d check with the public launch first.
Kayak rentals in Kaneohe?
Thank you VV. I%26#39;ll check out the public boat launch.
Captain Bob%26#39;s Adventure Cruises: See the majestic Windward Coast the way it should be seen -- from a boat. Captain Bob will take you on a 4-hour, lazy-day sail of Kaneohe Bay aboard his 42-foot catamaran, which skims across the almost-always calm water above the shallow coral reef, lands at the disappearing sandbar Ahu o Laka, and takes you past two small islands to snorkel spots full of tropical fish and, sometimes, turtles. The color of the water alone is worth the price. This is an all-day affair, but hey, getting out on the water is the reason you came to Hawaii, right? A shuttle will pick you up at your Waikiki hotel between 9 and 9:30am and bring you back at about 4pm -- it%26#39;s a lot quicker than taking TheBus (no. 55 or 56). Kaneohe Bay. [tel] 808/942-5077. $69 adults, $59 children 13-17, $49 children 12 and under. Rates include all-you-can-eat barbecue lunch and transportation from Waikiki hotels. No cruises Sun and holidays.
Also:
Several commercial outfits run snorkeling and dive tours to and around the sand bar inside Kane%26#39;ohe Bay from Hee%26#39;ia Pier (235-2192). Twogood Kayaks (262-5656) will deliver a kayak to you if arranged in advance.
Hope that helps!
Donny, thank you.
Thanks for asking, Yung- I was wondering the same thing!
