Anyone taken this tour?
Would appreciate any information
you have to share.
Mokulua Kayak Guides
We went with them a couple weeks ago during our vacation there. It was the best thing we did during our stay. The kids loved it. We saw turtles, explored a little island, snorkelled at a beautiful beach with lots of coral and fish and learned so much about Hawaii. I highly recommend it. Im still planning on posting a complete review of our trip, but that has to wait until I have more time.

Mokulua Kayak Guides
Do a search for them right under the green bar that says Oahu Forum there%26#39;s been quite abit about them.
Thanks for your help. After reading the previous
replies and Kate%26#39;s, I%26#39;m booking the trip.
Sounds like we%26#39;ll have a great time!
For $43, you can take this tour:
Guided Kayak Tour with Twogood Kayaks Hawaii, Inc.. This paddling tour takes place on calm, reef-protected waters on Kailua Bay. This package includes a kayak, life jacket and paddle, picnic lunch and, of course, your guide. Also included in this package are snorkeling gear (mask, snorkel %26amp; fins), dry bag and padded backrest for your kayak.
Lunch includes a french-style sub-sandwich, chips, and a 20 oz drink. The six hour kayak tour begins at their store at 9:00AM and runs seven days a week.

BoeingDad,
The rate I%26#39;m seeing is $109 with a guide. Am I not looking in the right spot? We%26#39;re also looking into a kayak trip, but we definitely need a guide as we%26#39;re novices. My husband and I let loose alone with a kayak could be disasterous!
wendie477 do a search here as there is also several posts comparing some of the kayak tours.
Searching the forum and then reading the comparisons is good advice. When we went on the Mokulua tour we saw other tours and they seemed inexperienced and young. Our guide from Mokulua Guides was very experienced and told us about the research he does for the university out on those islands. Very professional.
I got two tours for $86 total, purchased seperately. I%26#39;ll post the source when I%26#39;m sure that it%26#39;s not a waste. There%26#39;s two for one coupons in the free mags I think, so that%26#39;s two for $109? I might want more at $43, and the quantities are unknown to me.
If you want a nature tour, go to Mokulua. If you want a kayak tour that goes everywhere they do, go to twogood kayaks. The two companies are aware of each other, and try to avoid crowding eachother out. That%26#39;s what they told me when I wrote about the comments in here.
BoeingDad
i appreciate everyone%26#39;s advice. there is a lot of positive feedback on Mokulua Kayak Guides. i don%26#39;t see much on Twoogood Kayaks except from BoeingDad and i was wondering how much knowledge you got from the tour guides on your trip. i am studying Marine Biology and this will be my first time to hawaii. i love nature and the outdoors. i want to get the most out of my kayaking experience and see the wildlife in their natural habitat.
I would think that you would want to see the Waikiki Aquarium special tour, and maybe the dozens of marine research centers. The Mokuluas are overrun and being damaged. The tours follow the rules, but hundreds of kayak/kite board renters a week do not know the rules and visit/trample both islands.
IMHO - There%26#39;s about a hundred other places that I would go on Oahu if that was my field of study.
