What is south of the Mahana? I know that there is construction with that new big resort kind of in back and south of the Mahana. How far is it from the Mahana to the Westin timeshares? Are they before the Maui Kaanapali Villas? Are they the same property with different names? How disruptive is the construction to being able to enjoy the beach there? I know that the Royal Lahaina is closest to Black Rock. The maps I find are out fo date. Thanks!
Mahana neighboring resorts
Aloha Mauiboundsoon: It%26#39;s about a 15- to 20-minute slow walk along the water%26#39;s edge from the Mahana to the Royal Lahaina.
Both the Westin timeshare and the MKV (not the same property, but they do share the same entrance road) are before the Royal Lahaina. If you want to do some shore snorkeling, the reef just in front of the Westin is an okay site.... not the best, but easy to do, pretty calm waters for the most part, and usually has some interesting fish.
To be honest, we didn%26#39;t hear too much of the construction noise, except when we came out the door of the condo in the morning when we left for wherever.
You%26#39;ll have a great time. The Mahana is a great choice --- just don%26#39;t try to swim into the ocean right in front of the complex ...
Mahana neighboring resorts
Part of the Sheraton is built right into Black Rock, ya%26#39; can%26#39;t get much closer unless you wanna share a hole with Elmo the eel !! JK, I realize you meant the South-of-Honokowai area.. ;-)
Actually, the Maui Eldorado is also closer to Black Rock than the Royal Lahaina, but is actually on the Golf Course, back from the beach.
South of the Mahana (off the Kai Ala Dr. exit) would be Maui Kaanapali Villas, then the Westin ORV%26#39;s.
North of the Mahana, would be the Maui Kai, then Kaanapali Beach Club (old Embasy..), Kaanapali Shores (where the ';Castaway Cafe is), then Papakea.
Though I stayed in Kapalua, I spent some time at Kaheliki/Keka%26#39;a Beach (for amberloo...) and wasn%26#39;t bothered at all by any noise from const. Perhaps if staying in the area I%26#39;d have felt differently(?)
