would appreciate reccomendations on where to stay on any island - bearing in mind travel time from main island - would like a nice hotel with good pool %26amp; perhaps a kids club for a 6 %26amp; 12 year old - must be good value but reasonably priced

The Grand Wailea on Maui has what you%26#39;re asking for -- except for the ';reasonably priced'; part. If that part outweighs the kids club part, you%26#39;d probably like one of the resort condos in South Maui or West Maui. They have pools, ocean access, etc. but no kids club or room service, and you can save a lot by not eating only hotel food.

Hilton Waikoloa on Big Island is also a kids favorite -- also not inexpensive. Same for Hyatt at Poipu on Kauai.

You can fly quickly from Honolulu to any of the outer islands. The interisland planes are almost like busses. You get on, have a guava drink, get off. I%26#39;m thinking 30 minutes airtime to the farthest, Big Island. (Add time for airport security, waiting for luggage, getting a rental car.)
