Can anyone recommend a good ranch for horseback riding in Maui? I read that there is a 7 hour trip thru the mountains or volcano. Has anyone gone on this trip. Since I have my own horse and ride quite a bit I really don%26#39;t want to go on a ';head to tail'; ride with beginners. My last experience in the Dominican had people showing up in thongs and bathing suits to ride, but I had one guide offer to ride separately with me and we had a great time racing along the long beach stretch. If the rides in Maui allow for the more experienced riders to explore at a different pace I would love to contact that ranch.
Horseback Riding?Check out Makena Stables... contact them and tell them exactly what you are looking for. They ride up on the slopes of Haleakala, and if you are experienced, then they let you canter and gallop more freely.

Horseback Riding? We went to Ironwood ranch in Napili last July. We had a pretty good time. They go through pineapple fields and wooded canyons. There was some awesome views of the ocean and neighboring islands.
Also you won%26#39;t find any companies that take the horses to the beach. And I%26#39;m willing to bet experience or not they will not let you stray from the group both for insurance purposes and plus alot of them don%26#39;t ride on their own land and could lose their privileges.
