Is a Balcony Worth It

My fiance and I are planning to take a cruise on the Pride of Aloha in July for our honeymoon. We%26#39;re getting a great deal, but would it be worth an extra $700 to have a balcony? We%26#39;ve never cruised before.

I%26#39;m wondering if the ship is in port a lot to allow for all the excursions? If so, then would a balcony be worth it?

Thanks in advance!

Is a Balcony Worth It

DH and I have taken many cruises, although never in Hawaii. After the first cruise with a balcony, we were spoiled. Yes! Get a balcony!

Is a Balcony Worth It

Oh yeah. At first i always cruised in indisde cabins because I thought I%26#39;m not in the cabin long enough, so why pay for a balcony or suite just a waste of money. I tell boy was I wrong. Just being able to open the sliding doors in the morning for fresh air or eating breakfast on the privacy of your balcony is worth it alone! Plus late at night you go on the balocny with some strawberries and champagne and just really enjoy the beautiful night starlite sky . . . . . awh just beautiful. Once you try a balcony you%26#39;ll never go back to anything lower I promise you. The earlier you book the cheaper the price difference is. My balcony was only an extra $500 total from an inside and I%26#39;ll be on Liberty of the Seas (RCCL) in November. Well worth the extra $500 if you ask me!

I totall agree, we have cruised 12 times, inside once (never again, im claustophobic), port holes for 4 times, next one got an incredible deal on a balcony and to be honest once you have had a balcony you just cant go back !!! I just love having the option of having my breakfast, coffee on the balcony in the morning while you are either in port or just cruising..... and cocktails before dinner, or ending the night with a nightcap just taking it all in..... so peaceful... leaving the balcony door open all night listening to the waves or just getting out of the shower and air drying on the balcony.... (ok tooo much info, lol) If you can afford it. do it !! If you cant , there will always be another time :)

I would agree, especially for a special occasion like a honeymoon!

Even though you will be on land excursions for much fo the day, having a balcny will make the private time on the ship that much better.

We are taking that cruise in April, will let you know how it is!

Spend the $ and get the balcony. If your cruise goes out for a ';lava look'; (I don%26#39;t know how else to put it...it%26#39;s how my friend described it), you will want a balcony so you can sit and see....

I%26#39;ve always been happy with a balcony...and sometimes the rooms are slightly bigger (depending on the ship).

The only time I would not book a balcony would be on an Atlantic crossing, or if I knew my docked ';view'; would be of wharfside gas pumps. I was out on our balcony virtually all night once at Summer Solstice , waiting to see St. Petersburg
