booked this hotel but have now heard not too good reports about it anyone locally know it? Anyone been recently is it that bad? help!
Ocean Resort Hotel
i like it and stay there whenever i go to waikiki. initially i requested a room on the quiet side. so they gave me #1017 and the last time i requested that one again and they gave me room 1217. it overlooks the ocean and i could hear no traffic. it is nicely decorated and a good size. it has air conditioning which i don%26#39;t use so i shut it off. but it has no coffeemaker, so now i bring a kettle and a filter and mug. upon checking out the guy at the desk said that i got the best room in the hotel. from hearing that i think that some rooms are nice and some need remodelling.
there are two towers. the one facing kuhio has kitchenettes.

Mahalo for your help maybe i can try to request that room guess i can try although some say they are not very helpfull there but i have always found people in the area very friendly so heres hoping! any other thoughts are appreciated. Mahalo
I have booked this hotel also for 11 nights next month. I went into the hotel reviews on this website. Some were fairly poor but others said it was pretty good Considering the price %26amp; location.
We are in the Paldi Tower which is the newer one. We are also in a deluxe kitchenette which I am led to believe is above the 10th floor. So here%26#39;s hoping it is ok!!
When are you travelling? We will be back on 26th February so if it is after that I will do a review on the hotel %26amp; give you the latest!!
We%26#39;ll be there also Feb/March. I searched different sites to read reviews etc and found this to suit our needs and budget. and it%26#39;s close to the beach without paying an arm and a leg. Staying 2 nights in regular room, then 7 day cruise and returning to same hotel in Pali Tower also for the rest of the trip. We don%26#39;t expect or want something exorbitant, just comfy to sleep. When are you going? Hopefully others who have been there recently can post their insights. Only 28 more sleeps!
Aloha!
Hi everyone thanks for all your input we are not going until sept so maybe if anyone that goes before then can give me an update i would be gratefull Mahalo
Twiggs,
We will post a review once we get back as it%26#39;s nice to get it first hand for someone who was recently there. I do appreciate comments/insights into unknown territory. After all one would like the best bang for their buck as they say! We all work hard at getting ahead and I sure don%26#39;t want to be spending hard earned pay cheques on something that is sub standard. Don%26#39;t fret....will you be going by yourself? We don%26#39;t have high expectations...just that it is clean and comfortable. We both have back problems so that is a major issue to contend with. And if it makes you feel more at ease, I work in a hospital setting, and I am one to make sure my surroundings are very clean...not only for my patients but also for myself!
Mahalo!
Hi Twiggs,
We will be checking in on 13th Feb. Will post a critique when we get back.
Only 17 sleeps!!
The Wagga 3
We stayed at this hotel in December, and I thought it was just fine. It was clean and comfortable, and as long as you aren%26#39;t expecting deluxe, you will not be disappointed. We were in the older tower and did not find it noisy at all. For the price and location I think it is a great deal.
Thanks for all your replys everyone . cant wait to hear how you all go
i have been to waikiki before but not there %26amp; like many commercialised areas they change so much. But like you say as long as its clean %26amp; comfy thats all we want im going with my fiance
so all we need is a place to lay our heads as they say!
There were many good places to eat reasonably then too if anyone trys the Smorgy buffet restaurant in lewers let me know if its still good value! was my favourite place! but things change like everything in life i hope its still good .Have a great time everyone %26amp; keep in touch.Mahalo.
