Well, Alaska Airlines will finally be offering Hawaii as a destination - are we excited!! I found this interesting - accodring to their website, they will be flying to Honolulu and Lihue - that%26#39;s it, at least at this point. Kauai must be special to Alaska . . . to pass up Maui and the BI.
Right now, they are offering some great specials that are being snapped up fast, but I am hoping it will just help the overall competition so that we can all enjoy some cheaper rates to get to Hawaii. Just thought I would let everyone know - have a great day! :)
Alaska Airlines coming soon!
Coal miner,
That is good news, that Alaska will be flying to the islands. I think it will be from Anchrage, and some other north mainland cites, just caught the tail end of an announcement on TV.
Have flown Alaska Airlines, when deploying on the west coast from LA up tp Seattle, and I think Portland. They were always super, and had their stuff together in all categories.
Good for the folks up there in the north.....
Just remembered, have a friend from air combat , now living in seattle , is flying for alaska. Should be a captain by now, and perhaps he can bid the kauai route.

Alaska Airlines coming soon!

here%26#39;s the announcement.
Seattle to Lihue. Seattle and Anchorage to Honolulu.
That is terrific news because so many other airlines are offering specials to the Maui and HNL and not LIH. Are the low rates ($9) still available for interisland flights?
Alaska will be a great asset to Kauai.
Yay, Coalminer. I thought of you when I saw that they were going to start direct flights between Alaska and Kauai. My family is going on our first trip to Kauai in less than two weeks, and your posts have been invaluable to us in preparing.
Very true! Here is what we found on May 31st. valid through TODAY...
Booking through Orbitz on Alaska Air:
Seattle to Lihue, Kauai -Rd trip- $323.00
That sure opens up a lot of options, even from Canada. It would be $250 less per person using AA on the dates we are going using Air Canada(from Vancouver). And they fly direct to Kauai!!
Gee maybe we got our Oct tickets too soon..
We fly PDX to Maui direct, then a week later to Lihue, which we still need tickets for. We have tickets Lihue to PDX through HNL, would have been nice to return through Seatac direct from Lihue. Many options on to PDX from Seatac. Oh well, next time
Coal congrats. When you fly from Alaska how do they fly. Straight down or curve towards land. Do trade winds affect???/season?
