Leaving for Kauai on Nov. 15th.
Should we stay up north or down south?
North or SouthYo, Tex!
November, you might want to think about staying on the south shore. as there will be quite a bit more rain up north, plus the huge north shore swells will be hammering the beaches up there. Sometimes up to 25 footers. Can permanently wack the okole deep into the sand and rocks.
Barring a full blown storm, the south facing beaches will have smaller surf and calmer seas. And poipu will have the most sunshine.
Your choice, but you can always drive up north, after checking the weather up there. That is what we did as visitors , and still do as residents.
We came for sunshine and outdoor activities, and preferred sunshine to rain. Others love the rain, and so precip is not a problem to them. We could then pick and chose what part of the island we would explore, and work around any weather.
Now, passing showers are no big deal, and never have been, but rain all day long is a different situation to us.

North or SouthLast November the weather conditions on the north shore were wonderful. I think people should choose to stay where they will do the most activities. Why not split up your time? Alittle rain shouldn%26#39;t deter you from spending your time gazing at the gorgoeus mountains or watching the surfers catch that waves in Hanalei Bay. I love seeing the 16 foot waves. It is true though that you will most likely get more sunny days down south, but it%26#39;s never a sure thing!
