july 4th outrigger Regatta

We wll be arriving in Waikiki on July 4th. around 1:00pm I see the start time of the Outrigger races to be 8:30 am. I cant find an ending time. How long will they be going on? I was hoping to catch a little of them.

we have been there for the outrigger races, they run in front of the outrigger to moana hotels, a bunch of teams show up and set up tents along the beach so they take up about the whole beach pretty much. They put bouys out in the water that they paddle out around and back. They will have mens and girls races, juniors etc so the races go non stop.

They usually go until about 3-4 in the afternoon than all the paddlers go to Dukes for this big patio party. Lanikai seems to always win.

Its fun to watch, the ladies will enjoy the eye candy, but it is a little bit of drag that they take up so much beach. That is one of the problems with waikiki, they have some kinda contest going several weekends a month.
