If you miss Kauai...

I was missing Kauai so much so I sorted through a couple years%26#39; worth of about 400 or so miscellaneous island photos. Then I thought someone else might enjoy about 200 of them (minus friends and family mug shots). Thought too, these might illustrate that after all the commercial activities and entertainment there is a whole bunch to enjoy on the island on a drive from end to end or from the hotel/condo lanai or grounds.

If you miss Kauai...

I am always missing Kauai! Thanks for the pics, bjbert. They are awesome.

If you miss Kauai...

If it is possible to miss a place i have yet to be...then i sure am!!

I was sooo excited to be going to Kauai and now I will surely be intolerable until then

Bjbert - mahalo for sharing all your lovely photos . . . my favorites are the taro fields in Hanalei and the sunrises . . . oh, and all the flowers and fruit, too. Very kind of you to share with us all . . . Kauai is so beautiful! :)

Beautiful pictures...I can%26#39;t wait to be there! Thank you for sharing!

Best wishes,

Michelle

Mahalo for sharing. Are you buying the house?

Love the birds. The caption really makes the shot.

Aloha from Kaua%26#39;i!

I too enjoyed looking at the photos -- and found familiar faces!

A friend of mine is the ';surfing instructor'; in the red shorts in front of the Lihu%26#39;e Marriot at Kalapaki Beach -- his name is Joey and he is a musician by night (the way I know him, he has worked at the Hyatt with me in the torchlighting ceremony) and a surf instructor by day -- a pretty common combination actually! He also makes and sells lauhala bracelets, watchbands, etc. A very versatile guy!

The subdivision on ';Aina Pono'; -- one of my best friends lives on ';Aina Manu'; just up the street -- very familiar with the area! Beautiful but boy do they get lots of rain! Did you purchase the house?

Lovely pictures -- altho%26#39; the pic of the cane spider gave me chicken skin!

Malama Pono,

Janet

Shanty and Koloa...

No, I did not purchase the house way out of my range. BUT, just the best next thing, friends did. When I turn 70 next year I am invited to move into a lovely room (facing the sunrise) for as long as.....

P.S. Koloagirl...I am trading-in 50-degree fog, rain and wind from November to April and year-round an average water temperature of 55 degrees here in Moss Beach.

Spent September thru March off-and-on for a couple months at the house up there and loved every minute, rain or shine. Those rains always reminded me of coaches getting doused with quick heavy-duty washes of Gatorade after winning a game...never seen anything like it or how quickly the sun comes out again. Figure I can always slide down hill to Lydgate for some east side sunshine.

Thank you!
