Will.
We drove by and I got out and checked the exact location of your unit # 704. It is next door to where we stayed last visit in march , and there is a change. ( 1 yr and 2 months ago )
Directly across the access road from you, there is CONSTRUCTION, but NOT not one of the huge developments.
Poipu Kai has added a couple of buildings, and it looks like the framing and dry wall is complete, and they are starting on laying the shingles for the roofs. Paper is already down.
Today, sunday, no work was being done. Your downstairs front entry door faces the construction, but the construction is blocked from your view by a tall fence leading to the entry. Actually, your entry way is quite secluded, and took some hunting to find it...so that is good.
I would imagine that none of the rental by owner management people are advising anyone of the construction.
But, this is just two ( 2 story) buildings that are pretty much up. However, they still have siding and interiors and roofs to complete. I saw stacks of shingles on the roofs, so that should be done very soon. One of the buildings aleady had some of the shingles partly finished.
If you are off doing things during the day, I doubt it will be much of a problem.....apparently there are fairly strict regs on how late they can be working. So, it might not be that big a deal, but wanted to let you know ASAP.....we just now walked in, after bbqing.
I doubt that you will be able to see any of the construction that is going on from your unit, as it looks like your windows and sliders are facing away from the road.
Everything else as far as info is is pretty much right on, as we were in the 600 building, which is right next to you, but you are one building further from the beach....which doesnt amount to a whole lot.
We did the same visual check out for Erica%26#39;s sis and her hubby, and one of the rental homes they selected was right next to a beginning new house project. All kinds of saws, and hammers, and racket.
So, just a drive by, came in handy for them.
They passed on that, and took another that was on their list, that did not have any building near by.
So,not really sure that it will be any problem for you, but just didnt want you surprised when you drive up. Not certain when you are arriving, so a lot may be completed by the time you get here.
Not familar with the interiors of the VRBO units, as we always used suite paradise, and they were just superb. Probably depends on the individual owners. I am sure they had photos available.
Let us know how it goes, and perhaps you all might have some time to get together for lunch.....your sked permitting.
Aloha

Will....advisory on Manualoha # 704..IMPORTANT !!!
Denny,
I am staying in Manualoha 701 in a few months, so I am curious abou the construction. Does unit 701 face south towards the Ocean, or North towards the road and inward? Is the construction of the two buildings across the road to the North, or next to the building? Do you think they are going to be building any others nearby? I am hoping by December that the construction will be completed.
Thanks, John

It looked like the other units were NOT facing the construction except for the entry ways. You should be OK,
Also, they might be pretty well completed as to the outside construction of the two buildings. And, there is no more room across the road from you to build.
Douby you will have an ocean view..although you may be facing that direction , or at least away from the road. Your section is back from the water. But , you can certainly walk there or the pool very easily.....at least it was standard ops for us. Even, when we had units that were further back, than the 600%26#39;s.
