Help with 10th anniversary trip. Please.

My husband and I are planning a trip to Kaui this summer for our 10th anniversary. We have Hilton points and so will be staying at Hilton Kaui but are wanting to also see some other things, ie. Pearl Harbor and possibly Maui. We are planning a total trip of 7 days so I%26#39;m trying to figure out how is best to spend our time and what to see. We talked about flying into the main island to see Pearl Harbor and other things for a day or two but then I%26#39;m wondering if we should go on to Kaui or try to go to Maui also. We are interested in Road to Hana and possibly look at volcanos or helicopter ride. Any suggestions on how to accomplish all of this would be very helpful. What do we really need to see? Not sure about chartering flights to different islands. Thanks.

IMHO, 7 days is barely enough to experience one island. That said, if you%26#39;re flying into Honolulu, stay at least a day or so - enough to see Pearl Harbor. Skip Maui and go on to Kaua%26#39;i; you don%26#39;t have time for both. Do a helicopter on Kaua%26#39;i. It%26#39;s like nothing you%26#39;ve ever seen before. Kaua%26#39;i also has beautiful waterfalls and views, which is mostly what the road to Hana is, although each certainly has its merits.

Again, IMHO, you need a minimum of 4 days on an island just to hit some of the highlights. Four islands would require more than 2 weeks.

One day on Oahu is enough in my opinion. We went there on our way out from Maui. Took an early interisland flight from Maui to Oahu, rented a car, went to Pearl Harbor, drove around the island and headed to the airport for a 9:30 p.m. flight for home. Choose between Kauai and Maui. 7 days is not enough for both. Plan another trip later.

Thanks. That%26#39;s what I kind of figured. I don%26#39;t want to be rushing everywhere. I think we will definitely be going to Kaui for sure due to Hilton points but we do want to at least see Pearl Harbor. I appreciate all of the help.

if you have time to, you should try and make it to the polynesian cultural center on oahu...that will give you a nice taste of hawaii%26#39;s culture...it%26#39;s like the cliff notes version to polynesia...i haven%26#39;t been there in quite some time so maybe someone who has been there recently can tell you if it%26#39;s worth the trouble...
