Sorry I can%26#39;t help too much with the hotel-we stayed at Miramar and a condo at Turtle Bay. About what to do...what do you like to do? Do you like active stuff, or more of the relaxing on the beach? Do you like hiking? If so, do Diamond Head-fantastic views from the top. Or Manoa Falls is also nice. Go to the beach ( or several of them), maybe go snorkeling. We loved going snorkeling. If you want to snorkel, go the Hanauma Bay. We spent an entire day at Pearl Harbor-did the Arizona Memorial tour, the Sub tour , and the U.S.S. Missouri tour. Maybe go to a Luau-we went to the Polynesian Cultural Center (which is facinating) and had their Luau dinner. Watch the fireworks at the Hilton-they also have a free Hawaiian hula show-a lot cheesier than the PCC%26#39;s, but still fun. If you will have a car, drive out to other parts of the island or go to the Dole Pinapple Plantation.
I think you should easily be able to enjoy 6 days. We were there for a week, and still didn%26#39;t feel like we%26#39;d seen everything. Have a great time!

You won%26#39;t run out of things to do on Oahu.
There are two Outriggers that fit your description.
Outrigger Waikiki on the Beach - centrally located in Waikiki right across from International Market Place. It is right on the beach.
Outrigger Reef on the Beach - a few blocks away from Outrigger Waikiki, but stll a good location %26amp; also right on the beach. Some construction at this hotel and in the entire area. It is a lot less expensive than the other Outrigger. Close to Ft. DeRussy Beach, the best beach in Waikiki.
Pacific Beach %26amp; Waikiki Marriott are right across the street from the beach, but in an area where there are no hotels on the beach side of the road.
Resortquest also has several hotels %26amp; condos in the same area as Pacific Beach %26amp; Marriott.

Hawaii Maritime Museum %26amp; Falls of Clyde are OK.
Ft DeRussy in Waikiki has a free military museum.
There is a Father Damien museum in Waikiki. Temporarily closed for renovation, but may be open when you get to Hawaii.
