Where is the best view of Honolulu at night?

Hi,

Can anyone recommend a good look out for a view of the city - Waikiki at night?

We will have a hire car so we are not limited with transport.

Thanks

Where is the best view of Honolulu at night?

The lookout people will mention is Tantalus, but I wouldn%26#39;t go at night. Lots of partiers, lowered cars with their boomers. Not comfortable or enjoyable.

The Sheraton Waikiki has a bar/restaurant on top of the building, the Hanohano Room, with a fantastic view, on the beach.

Top of Waikiki is an old-school revolving restaurant but with a new chef %26amp; great food, and of course you get the entire view over the evening.

Sarento%26#39;s on top of the Ilikai %26amp; Aaron%26#39;s on top of the Ala Moana Hotel are the same deal as the Hanohano Room. Sarento%26#39;s %26amp; Hanohano have better food, imho.

And you wouldn%26#39;t need a car, of course, for any of these. Most of Honolulu%26#39;s city lights are Waikiki, with the buildings stretching to downtown, so either high up in Waikiki or maybe driving down a residential ridge are your best bets.

the best view is from the water, if you can get a sunset or evening boat cruise.

You can also go to the far end of Magic Island at Ala Moana Park for a great sunset %26amp; see the city come to life (lights) at night. The park closes about 8 or 9 pm.

Also walk the other direction toward or past Waikiki Aquarium, San Suoci Beach, for nice views of Waikiki day or night.

The restaurant already mentioned at Sheraton Waikiki is on 30th floor.

John Dominis Restaurant in Kakaako has a good view at night.

Thankyou everyone for the great advice. I have a few options there.

Take a walk on the grounds of the Hilton Hawaiian Village and shops. It has wonderful views down the full lenght of Waikiki all the way to Diamond Head. I%26#39;ve stayed in the Alii Tower a number of times and thought they had one of the very best views around. Just don%26#39;t eat there. the restaurants used to be good - not anymore.

Sad to say, but the best view is also the worst: Sitting on the left side of a 767, just after take-off, saying Aloha...a Hui Hou to Hawaii on a red-eye flight heading home.

I agree with Kamaa. That is a great view, but a very sad view knowing you are flying back home. I made certain I have a good view seat on my flight home in June since I will be leaving Honolulu at 11pm.

Best view is from a dinner cruise. There are several that leave from Aloha Tower.

Best day view is hiking on Manoa Cliff Trails -- look it up in the O%26#39;ahu Trails book -- The best hike on the island.

How much should one expect to pay for one of these dinner cruises?

hello neighbour(we%26#39;re from melbourne)

you cannot go past the hanohano room at night...my wife and I had our wedding dinner there and it was fantastic!! also for an understated view of waikiki at night from ground level you must go to ';michel';s restuarant'; at the colony surf hotel ...diamond head end looking back onto waikiki....the most romantic evening I promise you will ever have!!

we are heading back in june for our 5th trip...can%26#39;t wait!! aloha
