hale pau hanna

We are considering this resort for our 25th wedding anniversary next november. Any comments and experiences by prior guests are appreciated. We are looking for some place on the beach, comfortable condo close to shopping and restaurants. This is our first big trip without our kids, so look out Maui, here comes a pair of 40th year old teenagers!!

Thanks for all replys.

Put in Hale Pau Hana under search on the Maui thread. There was a lady named Hula something that stayed there last year and said good things about the resort.

Hi there, we stayed there in July this year and had a great time. Our condo(Unit 301) was very well furnished and had everything you could ever need. All of the units have fabulous ocean views and there are lots of restaurants within walking distance. I would highly staying there.

';I would highly staying there';.

That should have said:

';I would highly recommend staying there';!

The Hale Pau Hana is one of my favorite places to stay in Kihei! It%26#39;s one of the few ';true'; beachfront resorts and my wife and I love the place. The units in the low-rise building are literally steps from the sand. We enjoyed being able to sit on the lanai about 25 feet from the sand. The beach, Kam II, is a great swimming/sunning beach and there are even rock outcroppings at each end of the beach where you can snorkle. You might even catch a glimpse of the turtles that hang out there. Restaurants and shopping are close by and you are only a few minutes from Wailea and only 20-30 minutes away from Lahaina and Kaanapali.

I%26#39;ve heard people complain about road noise, with the resort being on a busy street, but it%26#39;s never been an issue with us. Besides, we spend most of our time on the beach, not on the road! You%26#39;ve made a good choice. Enjoy your trip!

This is not a party complex but it is one of the best beachfront locations that you can find on Maui. You have to walk perhaps 20 feet across a well manicured lawn and down 7 or 8 stairs to get to the beach-and it is a great beach .All of the units are unique because they are all separately owned. The website provides excellent pics of all the units in the rental pool but in most cases the units are NICER than they look in the pics. Some other units are for rent from other rental agents but I would rent directly from HPH as you have your choice of units and they will confirm a specific unit for you. We discovered HPH by a fluke in 1989(no internet in those days)and have returned to Maui 15 times since and always stay there. Our last visit was Sept.05 and we stayed 1 week in # 8 and 1 week in #205.#8 is REALLY unique-we loved it.Off course we also loved 205.Groud floor in the highrise has a little less privacy as you are right by the pool. There are 2 BBQ’s on site (propane) one by the pool and the other in front of #6.There are restaurants across the street all within easy walking distance -if you like sushi try Koiso in the Dolphin Plaza turn left when you walk out of the parking lot -it has only 20 seats and whenever we have been there frequented mostly by Japanesse tourists. One week in November is the annual owners meeting so you might want to check with HPH and avoid that week-less choice of units.I know I sound like a cheerleader for this place BUT I can’t help it, staying here has become an addiction.IMHO you can.t go wrong staying here .

The Hale Pau Hana is the ONLY palce to stay, in my opinion. My first vacation to Maui was two years ago, my boyfriend and I were staying at the Hale Pau Hana, and on the first day we were there he took me down to the beach and asked me to marry him! It was so romantic and beautiful all at the same time; of course I said ';YES!';. I am happy to say we are going back to Maui this June to get married and again will be staying at the Hale Pau Hana! You won%26#39;t be disappointed, it%26#39;s everything you picture Hawaii to be and more. Also, I highly recommend Alexander%26#39;s Restaraunt, it%26#39;s on Keihi Road, it doesn%26#39;t look like much, but once we found it we ate there every meal we had left in Hawaii and I haven%26#39;t been able to forget their Mahi ever since we left! HAVE FUN!!!

Hi, I%26#39;m hula. I have a new pen name. We love it there. You don%26#39;t hear the road noise at all on the beach side of the resort. The bedrooms are on the road side but that%26#39;s where the AC is and we tend to run it at night so we don%26#39;t hear a thing.

We are returning for our third stay in a few months. We have stayed a lot of places on the island and this is our favorite right now. The ocean is right at your door and the beach is fabulous. We love the well maintained grounds, the staff and the on site hula show once a week. It%26#39;s a great place to stay.

PS...Last April we stayed in unit 2 in the lowrise bldg and it was gorgeous. Very hi end remodeling.... nice nice nice...

trust her, she knows what she%26#39;s talking about....even though she did change her screen name.

Thanks Chico!
