help with 10th anniversary trip. please

My husband and I are planning a trip to Kaui this summer for our 10th anniversary. We have Hilton points and so will be staying at Hilton Kaui but are wanting to also see some other things, ie. Pearl Harbor and possibly Maui. We are planning a total trip of 7 days so I%26#39;m trying to figure out how is best to spend our time and what to see. We talked about flying into the main island to see Pearl Harbor and other things for a day or two but then I%26#39;m wondering if we should go on to Kaui or try to go to Maui also. We are interested in Road to Hana and possibly look at volcanos or helicopter ride. Any suggestions on how to accomplish all of this would be very helpful. What do we really need to see? Not sure about chartering flights to different islands. Thanks.

I would stay on one island for the 7 days or maybe

take a day trip to one other island. I wouldn%26#39;t want to

waste much of my 7 days at the airport.

I hope you have a wonderful time!

Texas,

It%26#39;s definitely hard to make decisions. Personally I live on Oahu and think it is quite scenic, the North Shore and all long the way thru Kailua and or even the drive over H3 is quite nice. Stop by Ko Olina resort and check out their small man made cove%26#39;s- the views are amazing. If you want to see PH for the Arizona or Mighty Mo that%26#39;s also very stirring. You could probably do most of Oahu in a very full day or more preferably two.

Kauai is also beautiful but it is very small and if you%26#39;re a driver who likes to do views by car and then move on you can see most main attractions in a day.

Maui is a little different. Personally it%26#39;s almost as crowded as Oahu now and has lost the charm that once made it better than Oahu. One day should suffice here as well.

You mentioned volcano%26#39;s so I must mention my birth island of Hawaii (Big Island). Volcano%26#39;s national park is simply amazing. Hilo is very laid back but also can be very wet- Waipio valley is not to be missed if you go to the Big Island as well.

Visiting three islands in 7 days is really very ambitious. You have to consider time spent traveling interisland (packing/unpacking, waiting for your luggage at the airport), even though the flights themselves are rather short. If you%26#39;d like an idea of the frequency and duration of flights, check both Aloha and Hawaiian airlines websites.

On Kauai, visiting Waimea Canyon (the Grand Canyon of the Pacific), I think, is a must. It%26#39;s awesome. Also, seeing the Na Pali coast (either on boat or helicopter) is great. It%26#39;s absolutely magical.

On Oahu, we never miss visiting the Arizona Memorial and Hanauma Bay.

Seeing Volcanoes National Park is great also, but you may want to add a couple of extra days to your trip. Good luck and have fun!

Thanks for all the suggestions. I%26#39;m still early in the planning. It may take me a while to figure it out.

I should add another persons response: Along with Aloha and Hawaiian Air you should check out GO! Airlines. It%26#39;s a new carrier that uses fairly small planes- but if you book in advance they will usually beat out fares from the competition- more importantly they have late flights which may make or break your plans.
