We have been to Maui several times and have always stayed at the Royal Lahaina and really liked it. I see that it is being renovated and a lot of people seem to not have had a pleasant experience there as we had in the past. We always stayed in the tower building and I see a lot were in cabins or the Hale building. Because of this, I am looking for another place to stay in the same area; anyone have suggestions on a nice, clean, friendly place to stay. We spend most of our time out and about but do like to have a decent place to stay. I have been looking at the ResortQuest Kaanapali Shores; anyone know about it? We like the Kaanapali area; maybe we need to try another area this trip.
Looking for hotel in MauiWe had exactly the same feelings. 2 stays at RL were great and very affordable. This time however I just could not book there based on the rennovations. We decided upon the Maui Kai condos. What sold me is ever unit is ocean front. We are going to be staying in unit 301 in April. It looks awesome.
Looking for hotel in MauiAloha!
Stay right next door to the Royal Lahaina at the ResortQuest Maui Kaanapali Villas...same GREAT beach, pretty grounds, nice staff, and they have a restaurant on-site, or you can walk next door and have the yummy breakfast buffet at the Royal Lahaina.

Hi...i%26#39;ve stayed at the RQ Kaanapali Shores and it%26#39;s perfectly fine. we stayed in a 1bd garden view. i%26#39;ve never stayed at the royal lahaina so i can%26#39;t really compare but the rooms are clean, the staff is really friendly and accomodating, and the beach in front of the hotel is great. we picked this place for their rates but i was pleasantly surprised. it%26#39;s not a luxurious condo but then again, you%26#39;re not paying for 5 star accomodations here. also, i believe RQ K Shores is a little bit more north than the Royal Lahaina. not sure how much further you%26#39;re willing to move away from the royal lahaina. Kaanapali Shores is in front of the star(?) market. i%26#39;m definitely going to try to stay there again next time. The Shores is a good choice!
We stayed just a stone%26#39;s throw further north, at the Papakea.
Rented thru the owner %26amp; had a GREAT ocean front 1 bdrm unit.

I am looking at the ResortQuest K. Shores, Mahana, and Maui Villas. We want a lania so that we can sit and relax; not sure if all of these sites have them Also, have looked at the K.Beach Hotel, but not sure about it as we would want an elevator. I have been looking at packages through Pleasant Holidays; seems easier than booking air, hotel, inner island fare (also going to Kauai) and car by themselves. Live in KY and looking at $6000.00 and up, according to hotel/room choices for eleven nights.. Any thoughts appreciated and thanks to all for your prior input. Also, looking at Marriott and RQ Kauai Beach in Kaui. Thanks Again! :-)
Think about renting by owner. Take a look at VRBO, it%26#39;s less expenive and you know exactly what you will be getting. Property mgmt companies cannot assure which uint you will get and you won%26#39;t know what it will look like till you get there.
