My husband and I are planning a trip to Kaui this summer for our 10th anniversary. We have Hilton points and so will be staying at Hilton Kaui but are wanting to also see some other things, ie. Pearl Harbor and possibly Maui. We are planning a total trip of 7 days so I%26#39;m trying to figure out how is best to spend our time and what to see. We talked about flying into the main island to see Pearl Harbor and other things for a day or two but then I%26#39;m wondering if we should go on to Kaui or try to go to Maui also. We are interested in Road to Hana and possibly look at volcanos or helicopter ride. Any suggestions on how to accomplish all of this would be very helpful. What do we really need to see? Not sure about chartering flights to different islands. Thanks.
Please help with 10th anniversary trip.
wait wait...7 days is not that long. Kauai is an amazing island and there are many beautiful sights to see. I would spend my time there and maybe do a day flight to Oahu if you really want to see Pearl Harbor.
Please help with 10th anniversary trip.
I agree with addictedtomaui.... You would NOTdo your visit justice by planning to island-hop to that many islands. There are too many highlights on each island and you would lose about half a day with each island change.
If you want to accomplish all that you have outlined, the only thing that I can suggest is to add at least another week to your trip.
Thanks for the help. We are thinking we will probably go to kaui first and then fly into Oahu to see Pearl Harbor the last day or so. Do you think one day in Oahu is enough or do I need two? If we wanted to see a volcano where would we need to visit?
If you do decide to go to Maui, the Grand Wailea is part of the Hilton group now so you can use your Hilton points or upgrade with Hilton Honors Gold.
A week per island is the norm. If you don%26#39;t hike, you can probably see all of Kauai that is served by paved roads in less than a week.
The live volcano is on Big Island, which is huge; there you%26#39;d need more than a week.
How about you do five nights Kauai and two on Oahu?
An ';hop'; between islands will eat up the better part of a day.
