We are planning a two week stay in the Kihei area this April and would love some recommendations for available condos. Must be on the beach, low rise and far away from road traffic (that%26#39;s the sleepless part!). any specific recommendation listing unit numbers would be great since we have noticed that a lot of the feedback indicates you need to be careful you ask for the right unit.

Try vrbo.com. Look at the Luana Kai, particulary those units in building ';A';. A104 ( I cannot remember the vrbo number), is a very nice 2 br, 2 ba ground-floor unit facing the ocean. It has AC as well.

That looks really nice. Which beach is it on?
Thanks:)

940 S. Kihei Rd, which is in N. Kihei, just a little south of Menehune Shores.

Punahoa Beach apartments, if available. They are off the South Kihei Road on a short side street toward the ocean.
This can be hard as the oceanfront complexes in South Kihei tend to be highrise and/or with BRs that back to Kihei Road. Two that are set away from Kihei Road are Mana Kai and Kihei Surfside, but they are not low-rise. Hale Pau Hana has a couple of lowrise buildings, but I believe the BRs back to Kihei Road.
How about Wailea? Wailea Ekahi and Wailea Elua have some units that are away from the road. They are low-rise. The complexes are oceanfront, stretching from the shore back to the road. Makena Surf is low-rise, direct oceanfront.
These are all on good swiming and snorkeling beaches, unlike many in North Kihei.
DH and I decided that in our price bracket a newer construction, ocean view and quiet were more important to us than being directly oceanfront, so we bought in South Kihei across the road from Kam III beach park. We can be on the beach in five minutes or drive to any of the many nice beaches all along the coast of South Maui that are within minutes by car.
We are returning to Maui Kamaole in Kihei for a second visit. Family of 4. Loved this condo complex: peaceful, beautifully landscaped, removed from the road so no vehicle noise. Stayed higher up the hill so the unit itself was extremely well situated in terms of peace and quiet, lovely views, tons of exotic greenery. Spacious unit, terrific for a family with ';kids'; ages 21,16. Look for Tim and Linda%26#39;s place!
GRG -- Shhh! You%26#39;ve found us out! (';I'; cluster?)
Low rise and on the beach is only in north or central Kihei and not south as previously stated.
Low rise to me means three stories or less. So, yes, Luana Kai A or D buildings or maybe the Maalaea Surf. The Kihei Kai and Kihei Sands are smaller complexes as well but most units in those two are set back away from the beach and will pick up some North Kihei Road noise. The Maalaea Surf will too if you don%26#39;t get into one of the beachfront buildings.
Central Kihei has the Waiohuli Beach Hale and Hale Kai O%26#39; Kihei but this general locale is not quite as upscale.
The beach in central Kihei is Waiohuli Beach and in north Kihei is all connected to Sugar Beach, though it goes by different names as it runs north from Waipuilani Road (Maui Sunset/Luana Kai) past the Sugar Beach Resort and on to Maalaea.
