suggestions of where to stay?

We are traveling to Maui in August. We would like suggestions of where to stay - we prefer South Shore BUT - we want to stay away from families. We would like someplace CLEAN, no carpet, with a kitchen and BEACHFRONT. We looked at renting houses, etc., but many seem to be off the beach or out of our price range.

Suggestions please?

I like Menehune Shores for the cost. It is in the northern part of Kihei though. www.menehunereservations.com will give you an idea of what you%26#39;re in for. The condo is oceanfront, but not really beach front, as there is no ';beach';. For a little more, I would look at Wailea Elua and Ekolu Villages. They have unis that are very short walks to a wonderful beach. http://www.drhmaui.com/maui-condo-search.php

Wailea: Wailea Ekahi, Wailea Elua, Polo Beach Blub, Makena Surf.

South Kihei: Hale Pau Hana, Kihei Surfside, Mana Kai.

There are less expensive properties in North Kihei that are beachfront, but the beaches are not as nice as those in South Kihei and Wailea.

There are less expensive and newer properties, too, that are across the road from the Kamaole Beaches or are above the Wailea beaches: Maui Kamaole, Grand Champions, The Palms.

I certainly agree about wanting no carpeting! However you will have to search to find that. In some complexes only the ground floor units have tile.
