Honeymoon in Maui - August 2007

Hello!

We have finally settled on San Francisco and Hawaii for our honeymoon destination August 2007 and have chosen Maui.

Where is the best place for us to stay in Maui? We want somewhere relaxing but also with good nightlife (we%26#39;ve recently returned from the Domincan Republic where the hotel was so quiet, we almost killed each other!! Just kidding...)

We%26#39;re trying to keep our budget to around £1500-2000k each so I don%26#39;t think we can go for the top hotels (particularly with spending on top - although we have had a quote for £1954 (San Fran, all flights, staying at the Sheraton)

As an alternative - can anyone recommend somewhere that is not too expensive but still with a little bit a luxury?

Also -I%26#39;ve heard Hawaii is really expensive (surely with the Pounds to Dollars exchange rate it can%26#39;t be bad?) - as a rough guide - what is an average cost of dining out in Maui?

Honeymoon in Maui - August 2007

On our honeymoon we stayed at the Kannapali Beach Club and had a lovely time. Breakfast was included each day with made a whirl of difference to a budget. The hotel was lovely with not just a room, but a suite with a kitchenette. (we never used it).

Overall it was a great stay and I would recommend it.

The Sheraton is worth the $.

Well, you and I seem to be in the same boat! I was just browsing the Hawaii forum because my fiance and I just decided upon Maui for our honeymoon, which will also be in Aug. 2007.

Unfortunately I%26#39;m just beginning, but I%26#39;ll keep you posted as I do more research!! Good luck in both wedding and honeymoon planning!
