We are on our honeymoon and by the way our computer is broken and we are using another computer but anyway Hawaiin air completly screwd us over. we are in Cali trying to gget out and can%26#39;t get the diect flight we planned on and paif for months in advance. I am stressed too the max! Any direct flights we want are aat least 600 more so we have to do stop overs and this delays us one day becuase it seems therre are no connecting flights. Our original plan was to slee in Cali and take a direct flight to Maui now it isnt available even though we paid for it.It seems Hawaiin air is only doing connecting flights now. What a huge hassle! a horrible start to a honeymoon!
I will never take Hawaiin air again!
I would first suggest that you just stop stressing! All that will do is prematurely age you. You just got married and have each other. Next, when life hands you lemons, make lemon aid. When one door closes, find another that opens. So what if the airline is doing connecting flights...take a connecting flight. This is all just a little bump in the road to the rest of your life. Get positive, start having fun, and most of all, take care of and love each other! Chuck
I will never take Hawaiin air again!
If you have copies of your original e-ticket receipts and that says that you had direct flights, then I would ask nicely for some type of compensation from Hawaiian Air. Are they paying for your hotel night with the extra nights stay, meals, etc. I have never taken Hawaiian from the mainland, but have never had problems with them on their inter-island flights.
Hawaiian Air I believe has one of the highest on time records in the nation for quite some time. Of course that doesn%26#39;t help you a hill of beans right now. I would suggest to NICELY ask for some type of compensation as you are on your honeymoon. I%26#39;m sure they will comp you something. Once you arrive in Honolulu there are a bunch of flights going to Maui. If you must try to get them to book you on GO! airlines as they have later flight schedules (small plane though) or else I believe they also have contract with Pacific Wings to accommodate delayed passengers.
Anyway don%26#39;t stress cause it never helps a situation. Just think of your beautiful bride and have some patience. I%26#39;m sure everything will work out fine for you.
Hey NewYorkee!
Sorry to hear of your glitch in the plans. One day, you will laugh at this. Ok, Ok, not right now, I can tell you%26#39;re not laughing, but you will.
:0)
Welcome to travel in the 21st century. We are about one step away from the airlines weighing us and charging by the pound like other freight.
I guess the old saying you get what you pay for almost applies here, you did save a ton on the fare but sometimes cheapest isn%26#39;t best.....don%26#39;t stress over it and ruin an otherwise great honeymoon.
I am not trying to be insensitive; however, I am having a difficult time following your complaint. Did Hawaiian Airlines give a reason for the canceled direct flight to Maui? Also, did you check your ticket carefully? You did mentioned a direct flight, is that from SFO or LAX? I%26#39;m a member of the frequent flier program and the last time I flew Hawaiian Air, we had a connecting flight in Honolulu. In fact, I don%26#39;t know of any direct flights they have to the other islands that don%26#39;t have a connection in HNL from California, particularly LAX. If there is a connection you must take, I don%26#39;t see how it puts you a day behind, given the connection flights on Hawaiian Air to the other islands run almost every hour, and the flight to Maui from HNL is less than an hour.
You need to speak with a supervisor about the change in schedule and request some assistance for your longer than anticpated stay (if that%26#39;s the case, I%26#39;m still unsure of what exactly the problem is) and they should compensate you.
We%26#39;re going to Honolulu in May, this is my 3rd trip on Hawaiian Airlines and I wouldn%26#39;t use any other airline to go to the islands. My first trip with Hawaiian Air was bogged down with a major delay of more than 6 hours; however, the airline gave us travel vouchers of $200 which we used for our next trip that cost us next to nothing because of the voucher. From my experience, the airline goes out of it%26#39;s way to compensate their passangers.
Congratulations on your marriage, and I%26#39;m sorry you are having such a bad luck with HA. As a previous writer said, some day you will laugh at this.
I have had connecting disasters like that, but never with HA. I love HA and have never had any of the problems you encountered, and I have flown HA many many times.
When you are a bit calmer and can think more clearly, try talking to them again. Explain in a nice way what happened. I would be very surprised if they did not respond in kind. Good luck!
