On this trip to Maui, we are considering a Trilogy adventure to Molokini (probably spelling that wrong..sorry!).....any pros and cons? Suggestions?? Our kids are 15 and 10. The 15 year old can snorkel well; the 10 year old hasn%26#39;t tried it in the 3 years since we were last in Maui, so will probably do better this time around. The on-line prices are reasonable, or should we wait to book with the ';booking person'; at our conseige desk? Do the dock from Kihei or Lahina? Thanks in advance for help!!
Trilogy half day cruise to Molokini Crater.....
I went to Molokini last year with Four Winds. The tour was nice, the snorkeling was really bad. I have gone on a snorkeling trip to Lanai and both the tour and the snorkeling were superior. I nearly always book online. Our tour to Molokini took off from Ma%26#39;alaea.
Trilogy half day cruise to Molokini Crater.....
Thanks for your reply!! Bumping up to the first page for more comments?
We have been on two separate trips with Trilogy. Both times were great. The first trip was several years ago and was to Molokini. The snorkeling was o.k. in my opinion, my husband loved it, he%26#39;s more adventurous than I am so maybe that factored into his enjoyment. He was also able to go scuba diving for the very first time with Trilogy on this trip. They gave him a crash course and he absolutely loved that part of the trip. We bought a video of his diving experience and enjoy looking at it from time to time. I can highly recommend Trilogy, the snorkeling is hit or miss, I think. Somedays good, somedays not so much. Good luck.
Thanks Vadreamer!! I think snorekelling is hit or miss anytime you go. Sound like my Hubby is like yours...he would LOVE to scuba dive; but I%26#39;ll pass, thank-you!! Diving down with a tank is a little too much for me!
You%26#39;re welcome. I%26#39;m the biggest chicken there is . . . My husband dived with Jacks Divinig on the Big Island this past summer and said he enjoyed the dive on Maui with Trilogy better. If you haven%26#39;t already looked into it, I can also highly recommend the zipline excursion on Maui, Skyline, I think is the name for your kids. Our teenage son thought this was great and he was stoked that chicken Mom actually did the zips too. By the time you get to the last zip, it%26#39;s actually pretty fun. Have fun.
Vadreamer.....we sound too much alike!! I was actually going to research the Zipline thing.....because %26#39;I%26#39; want to do it...it will blow the kids away!! Is there just one compnay that does the Zipline?
Yeah, just one company Skyline Adventures (or something like that). They have a great website and you can make ressies online. I started out on the first zip with my eyes totally shut but by the time I hit the last LONG zip, I was screaming with glee. It was really fun and the look on my son%26#39;s face was, you guessed it, priceless! He talks about it all the time. I%26#39;d definately say go for it. You can go zip and then head up to the top of Haleakala for unbelieveable views / scenery. Have a great time and don%26#39;t forget to report back. Oh, when we went to zip I was freezing (in June!) so make sure you bring a light jacket to slip on if you get cold easily.
