Where to Stay at Volcano Nat. Park

Hi -

We will be on the BI for our hm, Oct. 14 - 19th, and would like to spend the night at VNP.

Where would you recommend? We would like a nice place, nothing too fancy, but no roach motel! Somewhere close to VNP.

Thanks for your help.

The nicest place by far is the Kilauea Lodge. We also enjoyed Lokahi Lodge. I know there are other B%26amp;Bs in Volcano, but I have no personal experience with them.

It%26#39;s not romantic. It isn%26#39;t a roach motel. For one night, assuming you are staying in nice places the rest of the time, consider Volcano House. It is old and rundown BUT if you are really into volcanos/geology and are willing to make a tradeoff, if you get a crater view room, the view is PRICELESS.

I know, I know...it%26#39;s your honeymoon, you can stand outside and see the view....but there was something about sitting in the privacy of our room and seeing down into the crater in the afternoon/evening, and at dawn...

Aloha,

For a one night stay I would also suggest Volcano House with a crater view room. There is something romantic about being right there in the center of it all. If you are a Mark Twain fan this is a must do.

There are some very nice B%26amp;B%26#39;s in VV, you can check reviews out on Trip Advisor:

We stayed at My Island Bed and Breakfast a few years ago and loved it.

If you can stay 2 nights houses and cottages will become an option.

As Adeline said, if you are willing to do two nights in Volcano, there are several wonderful romantic cottages there. For example, where I stayed last month was a cottage built about 18 months ago that I would highly recommend. In fact, they have a guestbook for you to sign and there were several people who stayed there on their honeymoon who commented that they were already planning anniversary trips back to the same cottage.

Congratulations, and enjoy your trip!
