Hooneymoon Help...

ALOHA all. I am planning my honeymoon for Sept. 07 and any help would be greatful. I have narrowed our stay down to the Fairmont and the Mauna Lani. I am leaning toward the ML based on reviews and everything I have read. Just curious how the two resorts stack up. Im looking for a layed-back, relaxing stay. Which one has a less crowed feal? Better restaraunts? Thanks!!

Matgmby,

I vote Mauna Lani, based upon overall ';feel'; of the place, better suited to a honeymoon, IMO.

Either way, you can%26#39;t go wrong, it is Hawaii, you are on your honeymoon - it should be fabulous!

Good luck and happy travels!

I am a definite Mauna Lani fan....if you read the reviews, you may have seen mine. ML has better beaches and imho better snorkeling, as well as the grounds around the fish ponds, etc.

It is very relaxing.

But do walk over to the Orchid for dinner at Brown%26#39;s at sunset!

Also go see the Puako Petroglyph field north of the Orchid; it%26#39;s a nice walk and never crowded.

Happy honeymoon!

G%26#39;day ,My wife and I will be over there as well in sept 07 [Fairmont] along with about three to four hundred other friendly Aussies and Kiwis. We are having a confrence there for 5 days [Nutrimetics] a skincare and cosmetics company from the 10th /15th.

So come and say with us it should be fun, hey. Come and say GID,DAY and lay back and relax and i,ll arrange a facial for u. HA HA

hope this helps u . ALOHA

Aloha,

I have family working at the Mauna Lani. It is a beautiful place, but the regular rooms need renovating. If you can afford it, I highly recommend staying in the Mauna Lani Bungalows for your honeymoon. They are big, beautiful, very private and have their own private swimming pool, set on the oceanfront or ocean view. They come with your own personal butler too, if you want one. The bungalows really give a feeling of your own private paradise. Check out this site for more info and photos: www.maunalanibungalows.com.

Otherwise, if $6,000/night for the bungalows is not in your budget, I suggest going to the Fairmont Orchid as the rooms are newer and nicer. It is closer to the Puako Petroglyph trail mentioned earlier, which is a must. Or you can always try out both resorts as they are in the same area.

If you want to stay on a big sandy beach, then check out the Hapuna Prince Resort. It%26#39;s also nearby the ML, but on the island%26#39;s best beach for swimming and sunbathing. (The beaches in front of the ML and Fairmont, while beautiful are rocky.)

Happy Honeymoon!

Aloha,

You can not loose, both are wonderful choices for a honeymoon. I think the Mauna Lani might be a tad more laid backish. I love the CanoeHouse!

Have a great trip!
